Rebuild plans after a house fire
Rebuilding starts with a complete set of drawings. Pa Foua Moua has drawn them, including an eighteen-sheet set for a Fresno fire repair in 2022.

What a fire-repair set covers
What stays, what goes, and what gets built back.
A fire-repair set is not a new house and it is not a remodel. It has to show the building as it stands, what the fire took, and what replaces it, so the drawings carry the existing walls, the damaged walls and the new work as three different things.
This is the scope note she wrote on the 2022 set, as it is printed on the sheet:
“95% fire damage repair. 1st floor exterior, north wall undamaged by fire to remain. Existing slab to remain. Repair with new living, patio addition & remodel.”

What to have ready
None of this has to be complete before you call. It only makes the first conversation shorter.
- 01Photos of the damage. Inside and out, room by room if you have them.
- 02The adjuster’s scope of loss, if one has been written. It says what the insurer has agreed to.
- 03The original plans, if the house came with any. Many older Fresno houses did not.
- 04The property address. She works from the lot as well as the house.
