1. Who we are
Gievs is a web design and digital systems studio. We build custom websites, landing pages, funnels and GoHighLevel builds, and we host free sample sites and client previews on gievs.com. This policy explains what we collect when you use gievs.com or a site we host here, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
gievs.com runs on infrastructure provided by LineCrush (linecrush.com) and Spraggins Designs (spragginsdesigns.xyz), who process information on our behalf and under this policy. Questions about any of it go to hello@gievs.com.
2. What we collect
- Start a project requests. When you send the form on gievs.com, we keep the business name, your name, your email address, the link to your current site if you give one, what you tell us about the business, and any logo or photos you attach. We also record a hashed version of your IP address and your browser's user agent string. The hash lets us limit how many requests one address can send in an hour; it does not let us recover the address.
- Forms on sample and client sites. A sample or client site hosted on gievs.com may carry a contact, quote or booking form. When you send one, we store what you typed, the site and page it came from, your IP address and your browser's user agent, and we email it to the business that site belongs to. That business is then responsible for how it uses your message.
- Orders. If you buy a Gievs package, the payment is taken by Stripe on a checkout page Stripe hosts. Stripe collects your card and billing details under its own privacy policy. We receive the order details Stripe reports back to us: your email address, the plan you chose, the amount and currency, and the business the site is for. We never see or store your full card number.
- Email. If you write to hello@gievs.com, we keep the correspondence.
- Technical logs. Our hosting providers keep standard server logs (the address a request came from, the page requested, the time, and the browser) for a limited period to run and secure the service.
- Fonts. Our pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser requests the font files from Google and Google sees your IP address in that request. Google's privacy policy covers it.
3. What we do not collect
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies on gievs.com, and gievs.com does not set cookies of its own. We do not track you across other websites, and we do not sell personal information.
Stripe's checkout page, and any third-party service embedded on a client site (a booking widget, a map, a video player), may set their own cookies under their own policies.
4. How we use it
- To build the free sample you asked for and email you the private link to review it.
- To answer you, and to keep the conversation going while we build and launch your site.
- To deliver form submissions from a sample or client site to the business it belongs to.
- To take payment, provide hosting, and support the site after it goes live.
- To limit spam and abuse of our forms, which is what the hashed address is for.
- To let our own team know a request or order came in, through our internal tools.
- To keep the records we need for accounting and to meet our legal obligations.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the people and services needed to do the work above:
- The business a sample or client site belongs to, for the form submissions its site receives.
- Service providers acting on our instructions: cloud hosting and database providers, Amazon Web Services for sending email, Stripe for payments, Google for fonts, and the internal messaging tools our team uses to see new requests. LineCrush and Spraggins Designs operate the platform gievs.com runs on.
- GoHighLevel, if your finished site is uploaded there. GoHighLevel's own terms and privacy policy then apply to that site.
- Anyone we are legally required to share it with, for example in response to a valid legal request, or where it is needed to protect the rights and safety of Gievs, our clients or others.
- A successor, if Gievs is ever sold or merged, on the same terms as this policy.
6. How long we keep it
We keep project requests, form submissions and order records for as long as we need them to do the work, support the site, and keep the records the law requires. A request that never turns into a project is kept so we can follow up and recognise a repeat request; you can ask us to delete it at any time. Server logs are kept for a limited time by our hosting providers and then discarded.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, by emailing hello@gievs.com from the address you used. We will answer within a reasonable time and never treat you differently for asking. If you live somewhere whose law gives you additional rights, for example the California Consumer Privacy Act or Canada's PIPEDA, you can exercise them the same way.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front. If a business's site on gievs.com holds a message you sent it, we will pass a deletion request on to that business as well.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold: encrypted connections, access limited to the people who need it, and providers that run their own security programmes. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
9. Children
gievs.com and the sites we build are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, email hello@gievs.com and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. A material change to how we use information you have already given us will be explained on this page before it takes effect.
11. Contact
